ZisK Launches as Independent Entity from Polygon
In a strategic move within the blockchain sector, ZisK has formally separated from Polygon to focus on advancing zero-knowledge technology. Spearheaded by Polygon co-founder Jordi Baylina, ZisK will develop a multi-language compatible platform while Baylina maintains an advisory position at Polygon. The project builds upon the foundational work of Polygon’s zkEVM technology.
The Development Team
ZisK’s technical team consists of seven experienced developers who were instrumental in creating Polygon’s zkEVM prover. Their three years of collaborative work positions them well to enhance blockchain infrastructure through ZisK’s modular architecture.
Impact on Ethereum Ecosystem
Zero-knowledge technology, particularly zkEVMs, offers solutions to Ethereum‘s scalability limitations and high transaction costs. ZisK’s approach could significantly improve network efficiency while maintaining privacy through advanced cryptography.
Polygon’s Organizational Changes
This development follows Sandeep Nailwal’s appointment as CEO of the Polygon Foundation, succeeding departing co-founder Mihailo Bjelic. The Foundation will prioritize the AggLayer protocol to improve cross-chain interoperability and liquidity management.
Future Outlook
As competition intensifies among Ethereum layer-2 solutions, innovations like ZisK and AggLayer demonstrate the blockchain industry’s commitment to creating more scalable and interconnected systems. These advancements signal important progress toward solving fundamental blockchain challenges.
