Wyoming Stablecoin Commission Names Aptos Highest-Ranking Blockchain
The Wyoming Stable Token Commission has selected Aptos and Sei for its stablecoin pilot program, with Aptos achieving the top score among more than 10 evaluated blockchains for the upcoming WYST project. Aptos earned the highest marks in the commission’s network testing, scoring 32 points – matching Solana‘s score but outperforming competitors like Sei, Avalanche, and Ethereum.
Evaluation Criteria and Results
The comprehensive testing assessed three key metrics:
- Transaction speed (per second)
- Network fees
- Transaction finality time
Sei ranked second with 30 points, followed by Avalanche (27), Ethereum (26), Base (25), and Algorand (21).
Wyoming’s Stablecoin Initiative
Wyoming’s state-backed stablecoin aims to generate revenue through interest on short-term US Treasury bond reserves while promoting financial innovation. Governor Mark Gordon suggested a potential July launch date for the new digital currency.
